Final Project Step 1: Immersive Learning Spaces

Today libraries and museums are being challenged to keep up with all the new resources and information that can be found on the internet. The internet is a quick and easy way to find information but libraries and museums must sift through the information and find out what is credible. They want to provide their audiences with the best up-to-date information possible and with all of the information that is added to the internet daily, that can often be difficult. The objective of the Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group (LAM.TWG) is to make the most credible, up-to-date information readily available for libraries and museums.

The Libraries and Museums Technology Working Group has many objectives to make reliable information more readily available while also making learning more interactive using various immersive forms. LAM.TWG plans to create a framework to develop immersive products and services for libraries and museums. LAM.TWG also plans to establish the best practices for representing and interpreting museum data. Along with those two objectives LAM.TWG also plans to find and apply for funding that will allow LAM.TWG to advance their activities and projects. LAM.TWG plans to keep track of an up-to-date bibliography of where the information they present comes from. One final objective of LAM.TWG is to promote networking using immersive forms in libraries and museums.

The LAM.TWG has a plan that will lead them to success. This plan basically states the steps they will take to make the LAM.TWG successful. It states that they will create and publish the best services and practices that'll make the information readily available and simple to understand. The LAM.TWG plans to establish a community of library and museum researchers, virtual world users, and video game users through virtual communication (text chat, virtual meetings, etc).

Class 7, Assignment 2: Twitter Group Messages

These screenshots show my group and I discussing our Immersion 2015 outreach assignment.

Class 7, Assignment 1: Second Life

These first two images took were taken on a large platform where there were about 12 people just hanging out.

The next two images were taken on the beach. In the first one you can see another avatar flying away in the top of the image.

The next two images were at a lighthouse in the world I was roaming around in.

The next image took place at an area with many portals into different worlds.

The next two images show an area I teleported to. There was only one other person is this room that I teleported to.

The next image shows me customizing and changing my avatar.

This last image shows me using the text chat feature in Second Life.

Class 6: Assignment 3

All of these images display various profiles and information about my contacts for the Immersion 2015 Outreach document. These are profiles and web pages I found while doing my research.

Class 7: Minecraft: Interface Fundamentals

This first image shows that I have chopped down a piece of a tree and I am now about to grab that piece of wood. It will go into my inventory.

This image shows my inventory. I found my inventory by clicking the "E" button on my keyboard. Your inventory contains all of the items you have acquired.

In this image you can see that I have created "Oak Wood Planks." I did this by putting wood into my crafting box. You can create sticks by putting the wooden planks into the crafting box.

Class 6 Assignment 2

This images shows that I have added a new sidebar on my blog that has a link to all of my classmates blogs. I added this sidebar by going to the layout settings on the left side of the main blogger page.

Class 6: Revising Reports on Google Docs

The first image shows that I successfully shared one of my reports with members of my group for editing.

This image shows that members of my group have shared at least one of their reports with me for editing.

This image shows Alex's report on 3D printing after one group member added some information and before I added more information.

This image is after I had made some changed to Alex's report on 3D printing.

These two images shows Demetri's report on Google Glass before I had made any revisions. In the second image you can see that one group member had already added more information before I had.
This image shows a section that I added to Demetri's report on Google Glass. You can also see that another member of my group is also in the Google Doc at the same time as me.

This image shows John's report on virtual reality before I had made any additions to it.

This image shows John's report on virtual reality after I added a paragraph with more information.

Google Hangouts

Google Hangout is a platform on Google that allows someone to video chat, voice chat, or text chat, or all three simultaneously. It is essentially Google's form of Skype.

This link brings you to the Google Hangout page. It has a short video that briefly shows what you can do in a Google Hangout. http://www.google.com/+/learnmore/hangouts/

The following link brings you to a page that explains, step by step, how to start a Google Hangout. https://support.google.com/hangouts/answer/3115553?hl=en

These are screenshots of my team's Google Hangout. We were using the effects such as drawing, text, and sound effects.
