This article KOAA 5 News in La Junta, Colorado talks about how some students at La Junta High School and Otero Junior College are participating in an Immersive Education Club. Twenty students, some from each school, participate in the Immersive Education club that meets every Wednesday. The Immersive Education Club allows the students to create virtual structures using various programs.
The students start out by using the popular game Minecraft. This game is very simple and allows the users to create 3D structures with little detail. After using Minecraft for a period of time the students will then progress into using an architectural program called Autocad and then eventually finish their project using Autocad 3D. The Autocad programs allow the students to add significant details and make their virtual structures as realistic as possible.
